The Peoples' Party

convention2025.png

The Georgia Republican Party is a TRUE grassroots organization.

Because we believe that the voice of the People should be the voice that decides the fate of the Republican Party, we hold local Caucuses and Conventions in every odd-numbered year as well as every presidential election year. Each Convention has the opportunity to completely change the way the party functions, as Officer Elections, Rules Amendments, and Party Resolutions only require a simple majority to pass. The dates and times given on this page apply to ALL counties in Georgia with resident populations over 80,000.

AT THE PRECINCT LEVEL - 10:00am, FEBRUARY 22, 2025

In each Convention Year, the County Party opens up our doors to welcome every voter in the county who aligns with Republican Principles. Clayton County holds Mass Caucuses, which means every voting precinct in our county meets at the same time in the same location. At the Caucuses, the voters from each precinct will elect from their precinct a certain number of Delegates and Alternates to be their representatives at that year's County Convention. In odd-numbered years, the Precinct Caucus will also elect Precinct Officers: A Precinct Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Treasurer. There is no fee to participate in the Precinct Caucuses.

Pre-register for the caucuses HERE

Doors will open at 9:15 and close promptly at 10am. Late entry will be permitted for observation ONLY.

If you plan to attend, please consider bringing contact information and birthdates of interested neighbors. Together, we can change our party, and our community FOR THE BETTER!

AT THE COUNTY LEVEL - 10:00am, MARCH 22, 2025

The County Convention is usually held about a month after the Precinct Caucuses. At the County Convention, the Delegates (and elevated Alternates) will elect Delegates to the District and State Conventions. In odd-numbered years, County Convention Delegates will also elect County Party Officers: the County Party Chairman, 1st Vice Chairman, 2nd Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Treasurer. The County Convention Delegates additionally elect a member to serve on the State Committee. Special to Clayton County, there is also an annual award given to a member of the party that has gone above and beyond in their volunteerism. There is often a registration fee associated with the County Convention to help offset the cost of the Convention.

AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL - 10:00am, APRIL 26, 2025

The District Convention elects delegates to the National Convention during Presidential Election years and District Party Officers in odd-numbered years: a District Chairman, multiple Vice Chairmen, a Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, and an Assistant Treasurer. There is often a registration fee associated with the District Convention to help offset the cost of the Convention.

AT THE STATE LEVEL - JUNE 06-07, 2025

The Georgia Republican Party State Convention is where the Counties elect the State Executive Committee and the RNC Committee members as well as at-large National Delegates in Presidential Election Years. There is often a registration fee associated with the State Convention to help offset the cost of the Convention.

AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL - SUMMER 2028

The RNC is where the National Republican Platform and Presidential Nominees are chosen. Rules Amendments and Party Resolutions are also considered. Keep in mind that while the RNC is responsible for promoting Republican candidates and values, it's the County Party that makes the biggest difference, as each County's Delegates elect the National Delegates at the District and State Conventions.  There is often a registration fee associated with the National Convention to help offset the cost of the Convention.
